Grown from a seed collected in China, this sturdy, upright-growing elm was selected for superior performance on the hot, arid, windswept plains of western Oklahoma. Handsome, deeply corrugated leaves emerge copper-bronze and mature to glossy green. Insect resistant and tolerant of heat and drought, it is a fast growing, though and adaptable shade tree.

When inoculated with Dutc h elm disease, it has shown no observable damage or only tip injury to the branches. After, the tre e is able to wall off the area and prevent spread of the disease.
Frontier Elm
Chosen by the City of Denver's "Mile High Million" tree planting, this Elm is resistant to Dutch Elm Disease. It has reddish-purple fall color.
